On 26.09.24 we had the opportunity to test the pumpability of the STABILS even at high dosages. Under the direction of Thomas Arndt (Head of Building Materials Technology TZ Bernburg), a test station with various large-format formwork was set up on the premises of BFU Betonpumpen Magdeburg. We received the fresh concrete from the nearest Schwenk ready-mixed concrete plant in Magdeburg. We were also able to welcome Bernd Rottmann (Head of Application Technology) from PUTZMEISTER Concrete Pumps GmbH as additional support. We initially started with a dosage of 40 kg/m³. The steel fiber fresh concrete was pumped into an empty concrete mixer and then emptied back into the concrete pump. In the next step, the steel fiber fresh concrete was pumped into the prepared formwork with reinforcement cage. In the second test, we doubled the dosage to 80 kg/m³ and carried out the same process as in test 1. To the astonishment of everyone involved, we had no complications in either of the two tests with regard to the formation of steel fiber hedgehogs or blockages in the pump. Bernd Rottmann always kept an eye on the parameters of the digital display of the Putzmeister concrete pump.
From our point of view, the pumping tests were a complete success. We were also able to prove that STABILS steel fibers can also be used to pump very high dosages without any problems.
