What effect do steel fibers have on the properties of concrete?

Until recently, steel fibers were usually wires, deformed either at their ends or along their entire length. These deformations allow better anchorage of the fiber in the concrete matrix than would be possible by friction between steel and concrete alone.

The STABILS steel fibers are not made of wire. The starting material is cold-rolled strip.

Highest performance through cold-rolled steel fibers are a robust reinforcement for concrete structures

Cold-rolled strip offers a clear advantage over hot-rolled and cold-rolled sheet - it is characterized by more precise dimensional stability. This is a unique feature that ensures high stability. Only by using cold-rolled strip as a starting material can the unique micro-anchors of STABILS steel fibers be produced.

The straight and high-strength STABILS steel fibers ensure uniform distribution in the concrete and spatial alignment. The distance between two adjacent fibers is typically between 10 and 25 mm.

STABILS steel fibers make it possible to block microcracks immediately after their formation so that they do not propagate further. In addition, they ensure that the crack edges are anchored together and they can transfer forces across them.
