What is the difference between bonded and unbonded straight steel fibers?

The difference between bonded and unbonded straight steel fibers is easy dosage and distribution in the component and allows maximizing the savings potential.

The primary reason to bond fibers using water-soluble adhesives is to facilitate the addition of fibers to concrete and minimize the risk of fiber balling.

Some adhesives have the property of additionally introducing air voids into the fresh concrete. If bonded fibers are used in combination with an air entraining agent, this may result in a sharp increase in the total air void content. The undesirable result would be that the concrete compressive strength is reduced and durability is not guaranteed.

Unbonded STABILS steel fibers

Are you looking for a high quality steel fiber that is straight and stable?

Then STABILS is the right choice for you! Our steel fibers align themselves optimally due to their material properties and prevent hedgehog binding. So you can be sure that your product is durable and stable.

Try it out for yourself and convince yourself of the quality of our steel fibers!

STABILS steel fibers are straight and not bonded together by an adhesive. Due to their material properties, STABILS products adjust ideally and prevent fiber balling.
