How can the performance of steel fiber reinforced concrete be verified?

There are several standardized load tests that can be used to determine the performance of steel fiber reinforced concrete.

The most commonly used test is the single bearing test beam with a cross section of 150 x 150 mm². Various sets of standards such as the German DAfStB guideline, the Dutch CUR 35, the Austrian Fiber Concrete guideline or the RILEM guideline can be used here.

Another method is to test circular or square steel fiber reinforced concrete slabs that break with a center point load or a line load.

This type of test usually provides more reliable results with less scatter than beam testing. Common guidelines for slab testing are the EFNARC method, the Swiss SIA 162/6 or the French BEFIM guideline.
