Steel fiber concrete - a sustainable building material

Steel fiber concrete is a material that has undergone rapid development in recent years.

It offers many advantages over conventional concrete and can be used in particular for highly stressed structures.

Steel fiber concrete is a material that has been increasingly used in recent years for the manufacture of concrete structures and structural elements. The advantage of steel fiber concrete is that it has a greater load-bearing capacity than conventional concrete.

Steel fiber concrete has many advantages over traditional concrete. It is more resilient, more resistant to compression, tension, torsion and shear forces, and provides higher ductility for traditional concrete components. Steel fiber concrete is also better resistant to impacts, explosions, dynamic and cyclic loads.

Steel fiber concrete - an approved building material with promising potential.

Steel fiber concrete is a suitable choice for structural components that fall under building authority specifications or have a "General Building Authority Approval" from the DIBt. If required, an individual case approval can also be applied for. Steel fiber concrete is a regulated building material in Austria and Germany. In Austria, the ÖBV - Guideline Fiber Concrete, and in Germany the DAfStb Guideline Steel Fiber Concrete, published in 2021, regulate the use of this high-quality material. It is important to note that steel fibers must be used in accordance with CE marking system 1.

The EN 14889-1 standard defines the specifications for the use of steel fibers.
